Rooney : up there with the best

Rooney has world cup coaches drooling at summit in South Africa. Whilst Ronaldo may have become the better player by the time he left United, a lot of us would still have always had Rooney as first name on the teamsheet. And now shorn of having to cover for Ronaldo's defensive weakness we are seeing Rooney start to become the complete package. For me he will become a better player than Ronaldo as he doesn't rely on pace as much as Ronaldo. We do rely on him too much though, and we need a bit more quality around him up front.

Rooney is happy with form and wants to play at Wembley. I can't see him not starting, the last thing Fergie needs is an unhappy Rooney.

Fergie thinks Ferdinand will have to consider his international future if he wants to prolong his career. I'm afraid i would be thinking Beckham rather than Giggs when predicting Rio's future playing career. He would sooner be England captain for a year and then retire early to concentrate on his business career, hopefully in a blaze of glory after a successful world cup. Unfortunately for him i can't see his back holding up game after game in the summer.

A new manager in the summer, by the looks of it. Nice to see an ex red get the crucial second goal.

David Blanchflower thinks the Germans leaving the Euro would be a better answer than the Greeks leaving the Euro.
