Scholes not sure

The ginger prince is not sure he made the right decision over whether to accept the invitation to join Fabio Capello's world cup plans. I think he's right to infer that Rooney would have lover to have him there.

Ian Herbert warns critics of United's chances over regaining the title next season after the defeat in Kansas to not discount them too soon. It's a good point about our post world cup record. Though the main reason to not discount us is that we won't get hit by disastrous injury crisis again. He is also right about Carrick, we need him to come good again and whilst it's hard to forget his terrible latter part of last season, there is no reason why he shouldn't be able to come again. You just wonder if it's in his character to fight back and show just what a good player he can be. For all the talk of taking Scholes to the world cup if Carrick had showed anything like the form of his first two seasons, it could have been him pulling the strings for England in South Africa.

Ferguson reveals he may have to leave Hargreaves out of his 25 man first team squad and he has some decisions to make over the final make up of that 25. There can surely be no way that Hargreaves appears in that list. It's hard to see how Fergie can ever take the chance of putting him on that list ever again, especially when you look at what happened last year to our defence.

The Guardian's Afghan warlogs show more light on the coalition forces unreported actions. The US troops aren't shown in a flattering light but i have a lot of sympathy for them. They are in a country they don't understand fighting an unwinnable war without knowing who the hell the enemy are as Channel 4's Alex thom pson reports in the piece below

Nine black alps who were the next big Manchester thing, where did they go. I thought the first album showed a lot of promise.
