No bid until the season finishes according to the red knights in their latest statement to the press.

This was about as untinkable a story as you could get in December. United are pleased to announce that Nani has signed a new four year contract. He has started to look a bit more like a united player of late and seems to have added more consistency to his game. He had a pretty good game on Sunday, when it was needed as well. He is nowhere near the finished article though and he still has more than the odd howler, Wolves away was shocking. It seems odd that since his form inproved he seems to have stopped scoring. If he marries his improved form to goals we are talking about a player.

Fergie doesn't sound thrilled on hearing of Giggs reported quotes about thinking of a return to international football. What red is.

Reports say Ferguson has taken Owen Hargreaves out of the reserves and thrown him into first team training. I can't make that one out. He looked ok in the comeback match but he didn't push himself too hard, understandably enough. And then come the story that he still has pain in his knees and is still having injections. Strange.

As we near the first leg of the Bayern tie Matt Hughes asks if Robben regrets not moving to United when he had the chance in 2004

He is a very good player, but he is a bit of pussy for me, he can and used to anyway, go hiding in games. Saying that he was superb against Fiorentina.

It's that man again, whilst Gill is in the headlines and would rather not be, Cook gets in them and sometimes you wonder if that's the way he likes it. I can't imagine the Arabs do

I can't believe Con Coughlin thinks the Republicans have got their tactics against Obama all wrong.

This sentence kills me "America is, at heart, a selfish country; the principle that the wealthy should pay to take care of the needy has never taken root." He could have just said it is a conservative country at heart.

Craig Murray writes why class stll matters in the UK under new labour, and how ironically enough it may well be them who benefit in the forthcoming election.

He is right that the minimum wage definitely helped the poorest in our society. The problem is after that good start there wasn't too much else to shout about for a supposedly distributive party. And the way the rich poor divide has exploded again over the last few years won't be something to be proud of when the history books of this period are written.

Murdoch to go ahead with charging fo online content, obviously i hope he fails. If we are to have eventually charge for online news, and i am not sure we will, we don't want him coming up with the winning model.
