Ferguson laughingly has a go at interfering owners, plunging your club into unimaginable amounts of debt in the middle of a global credit crunch is alright though.

The four reds who have been holed up in a rome jail are released. When you remember the slapped wrist the Roma fans received for the violence outside Old Trafford, the treatment these four have received has been a disgrace.

Gordon Brown sinks further into the brown stuff as Labour has a dismal local election night, and as the architect of the too clever by half scrapping of the 10p tax rate it's exactly what he and the party that supported it through it's parliamentary votes deserved.

John Kampfner contrasts Livingstone and new Labour. I am not a fan of the newt lover but i would have to say i would prefer him over Blair or Brown anyday.

I have tried to find his Kanal on DVD another brilliant polish film set during the war but i couldn't find it. But i did find out it is part of a trilogy of films, so now obviously i want to see the other two films. Maybe this has been released to great acclaim they will get reshown on BBC2 or Channel4

Music

Elbow - The seldom seen kid: As per usual a top notch album from perhaps Manchester's current finest band
Foals - Antidotes: I had read them compared to the American band Battles, and this does bear comparison to their debut mirrored. I wouldn't say it's as good as that, it's too long for one thing. But if your into that album with it's angular new waveish style guitar sound you will like this.
Goldfrapp - Seventh Tree: A bit of a departure from the last couple of albums, but still recognisably Alison Goldfrapp. Less electronica more chill out acoustic psychedelia.
REM - Accelerate: Their best album for some time, with some cracking tunes reminding us of earlier glory days.
Supergrass - Diamond hoo ha: The usual solid catchy indie rock from the boys from Oxford, whilst i don't think they have ever really come near matching their debut album, they continue to make consistently good albums.
The Whip - X marks destination: Manchesters latest hot thing deliver their debut album. They have been compared to New Order, and whilst i can see where that comes from, it's not really fair to compare them with such a great group. There are some cracking tracks on the album, but a couple too many fillers for my liking. When they are good they are really good, but when they are not they are pretty average. Hopefully a bit more consistency will creep into the next album if the comparisons to New Order are gain any credence.
The Raconteurs - Consolers of the lonely: A second outing for Jack Whites other band and it's another excellent effort. There are a few tunes that are more reminiscent of the White Stripes than there were on the first album, but it builds nicely on the first album.
