Red knights to decide on bid next week

Or according to the Times the bid has been put on ice. That would be disappointing but not totally disastrous. If they are playing a long game to buy the club at a lower price, long term it would be good for the club. I'm still totally convinced that they will be forced into selling the club at some point.

The Times carry on with the story that Fergie will have a big say in choosing his successor. Is that supposed to appease the banks or bondholders.

Mourinho has mapped his future out and wants to end up at old trafford according to the news of the world. As much as that is a comic of a paper and as much as i don't want him anywhere near old trafford if the Glazer's somehow do manage to stay here i could see them offering him what he wants to come here. Another reason to want them out.

An Observer interview with bumble. I love my cricket and i love listening to his commentary, he is a scream at times. Of course like all the best cricket commentators, Boycott, Atherton and Lloyd himself he's a red. I don't think i would be quite as confident as he appears to be that they will retain the ashes in the winter. But this is the best chance they have had as long as i can remember.

The observer editorial argues for the resignation of Laws with the correct analysis of the situation.

Of course he has done now, as Alexander is named as his replacement. The orange bookers seem to have gained the upper hand in the party even though numerically the left are their equal. I want to see a fight back, as i read Farron, i think say, they don't want to be the equivalent of the German FDP.

William Keegan's observer column takes aim at the revival of the treasury view. And praises Stephen D King's new book which seems to be gaining praise all round the board at the moment.

This article puts forward a defence for sex in the city, and fails, it's shit.
