Rodwell stays at Goodison

According to some sources he was our top summer target. I liked the look of him it's got to be said, and if we had bought just one player this summer i would have been happy for it to have been him. After signing that extension, how much is he going to cost when he eventually leaves Everton as he undoubtedly will. If the Glazer's are still here, that will probably rule us out of that auction.

Red knights to meet again this week, talks are progressing, whatever that means. It says here that we are being encouraged to leave renewal as late as possible. That's news to me, all i've seen are the e-mails asking if we intend to renew or when we will renew. That isn't the same thing as asking us to leave renewal as late as possible. I still want this to succeed as getting rid of the leeches is the most important task for the future of this club. I'm more and more convinced though, if is successful, MUST and all us reds that hoped for at least the semblence of a club run in the interests of the fans are go to be sdaly disappointed by the results.

I don't mind Martin Samuel as a journalist, but he seems to have a big downer on the red knights. That would be fair enough if he gave us some facts or even reasons as to why, but every time i read him slagging them off i don't see any.

Carrick fails the audition writes James Burt in the Telegraph as he fails to impress against Mexico at Wemble last night. He wasn't the only one who didn't set the world alight last night and did improve slightly after the break. But his first half just carried on the piss poor form we've witnessed at United for the second half of this season. Thank fuck Scholes signed up for another year. But what happens when he retires. I suppose what makes the Carrick situation so frustrating is the knowledge that the talent is there, it's just the belief in his own ability.

As Matt Dickinson writes it's not hard to see why Capello decided to try to pesuade Scholes one last time.
